Today's Verdict: Secure Act, Fair Fares & ICE Subpoena

On this episode of Today's Verdict, host David Lesch sits down with Ronald Fatoullah, Esq., a top elder law attorney at Ronald Fatoullah & Associates, to discuss the SECURE Act, which aims to strengthen retirement security across the country.

The Act has received some backlash as some financial advisors feel that it might actually hurt current retirement savers as it eliminates employers' liability when including annuities in retirement plans. This change could instead be seen to benefit the insurance industry more than individual investors.

On the second half of the show David interviews Community Organizer at Riders Allaince, Danna Dennis to discuss the Fair Fares NYC program recently created by Mayor Bill de Blasio, City Council Speaker Corey Johnson, and members of the City Council. The program provides a 50% discount on subway and eligible bus fares for low-income New Yorkers.
