OCTOBER 31st

Special Olympics Training at St. Mary’s Recreation Center

Location: St. Ann’s Avenue & 145th street, Bronx, NY
Time: 11 A.M.
Information: This is an instructional Adaptive Sport Program to teach Tier 1-3 sports and developmental drills. This will lead to more sporting and advance sporting activities and will assist with positive interactive activities and a healthy lifestyle.

Toddler Studio Art at Williamsbridge Oval Recreation Center

Location: 3225 Reservoir Oval East, Bronx, NY
Time: 11 A.M.
Information: FREE weekly art workshops led by the Art Students League, Amy Digi. The classes will consist of painting, collage, and sculpture. Each week the group will look at a different artist or form of art. For children under 5 years old. *The caretaker must stay with the child for the entire class*

Adaptive Dance Fitness at St. James Recreation Center

Location: 2530 Jerome Avenue, Bronx, NY
Time: 12:30 P.M.
Information: Participants will engage in light workouts that are modified for their individual needs. They will receive a workout that is both fun and beneficial to their health. The workout sessions will focus on sensory motor skills that may improve individuals’ overall well-being.

Pumpkin Party!

Bronx Jewish Center Invites You to a Free Community Dinner

Information: Join Bronx Jewish Center for its next community Shabbat dinner! The special theme for that evening will be in support of Breast Cancer awareness. 2nd Annual Concourse Film Festival at The Point

Information: This film festival is a platform for highlighting Bronx films by Bronx filmmakers. There will be feature films, shorts films, live performances, music, food and drinks, a haunted house/maze and red carpet!

Teen Game Zone at Poe Park Visitor Center 

Location: 2640 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY
Time: 2:30 P.M. 
Information: Teen Game Zone is a great way for the youth to be introduced to new games, meet new people. Stay active, and have an overall great time in a safe environment. Teens will be able to play board games, games to keep their bodies in motion, and sports-themed video games. This will encourage others to engage with one another positively and gain social skills.

Annual Walking In Silence for the Silenced: DV Solidarity Walk!

South Bronx Street Tree Care at Bill Rainey Park

Location: Beck Street and Intervale Avenue, Bronx, NY
Time: 9 A.M.
Information: Come work with NYC Parks Stewardship to care for local street trees! Volunteers will learn how to aerate, cultivate, mulch, and identify street trees. Learn about the important roles street trees play in NYC. Volunteers should dress in clothes that can get dirty and closed-toed shoes. They are also encouraged to bring their own water bottles. *Registration is required*

The Van Cortlandt Super Hike at Van Cortlandt Park

Information: Our Urban Park Rangers will introduce you to the hidden gems of New York City. Hiking programs feature intensity levels ranging from light to moderate to vigorous. This challenge eight-mile hike winds its way through most of Van Cortlandt Park’s many diverse forests and ecosystems. *Registration required*
