November 28th

Bar Car Nights at New York Botanical Garden

Black Friday Hike” Northwest Woods at Van Cortlandt Park

Location: Cass Gallagher Trail in the Northwest Woods of Van Cortlandt Park, located at Moshulu Avenue and Broadway.

Teen Game Zone at Poe Park Visitor Center

Location: 2640 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY
Time: 2:30PM
Information: Teen Game Zone is a great way for the youth to be introduced to new games, meet new people, stay active, and have an overall great time in a safe environment! Teens will be able to play board games, games to keep their bodies in motion, and sports-themed video games. They will also be encouraged to engage with one another positively and gain social skills.

Family Art Project: Symbiosis Scenes at Wave Hill

Location: West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, Bronx, NY
Time: 10AM
Information: Symbiosis is everywhere! Lichen is formed from the symbiotic relationship between fungus and algae: cleaner fish help bigger fish by picking at dead matter on their skin. Sea anemones ride on the backs of hermit crabs and in return, hermit crabs are protected from octopuses.

Explorer’s Club: Seal watch at Orchard Beach Nature Center in Pelham Bay Park

Location: Please meet at Section 2 of Orchard Beach.
Time: 10AM
Information: Winter is an amazing time of year to observe seals in the NY harbor estuary. You may be surprised by what looks like a rock in the distance, is actually a healthy seal. Our Urban Park Rangers will guide you to the best wildlife viewing spots in the Urban Jingle. Exploration Series focuses on unique wildlife viewing opportunities during particular seasons.

“The Nutcracker” at Lehman College
