Strike a Chord: Emergency Food Services

Food banks across the United States, including in the Bronx, are seeing a surge in demand as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. A lot of people have lost their jobs due to the coronavirus outbreak and need help putting food on the table. In this Strike a Chord presentation, we talk about how Bronx food pantries are responding to the growing need. WFUV’s George Bodarky is joined by Christina Hanson, Executive Director of Part of the Solution (POTS), Julie Spitzer, Homelessness Prevention Department Director at BronxWorks, and Judy Secon, Director of Operations at New York Common Pantry to discuss the demand and how they have adapted during the pandemic.
