BronxNet | Perspectives, an award-winning show, is a live half-hour interactive call-in television program geared to discussing contemporary topics affecting the African-American community on both the national and local level. The show features informed guests who offer insight, debate and evaluate various issues. The show seeks to enlighten the public to available resources in and around their community. Perspectives provides a fair and balanced thirty minutes of programming where viewers can become educated and empowered. Now entering its ninth season, Perspectives, was born when BRONXNET shifted its programming format from news to interview and talk. The show is the brainchild of its host and executive producer Daren Jaime. Daren\'s goal was to use public television to improve the diversity of African-American programming by establishing a news related cable television program to stimulate dialogue and discussion. In 2005, Perspectives won broadcasting and cable\'s \"Telly\" award in the Talk Show category for its coverage of the Hurricane Ivan disaster and its devastating effect on Haiti and Jamaica. Perspectives airs live every Tuesday at 8:30pm on BRONXNET (Cablevision channel 67 and on Verizon Fios channel 33). The show is also rebroadcast throughout the week.
