The little-known office of IG has jurisdiction over all state executive branch agencies, departments, divisions, officers, boards and commissions, and over most public authorities and public benefit corporations. In particular, IG Lang has issued reports on the state's correctional facilities involving stark racial disparities, false positive drug tests of inmates, and other oversights.
