On Thursday, June 1st, the Bronx Borough President kicked off Pride Month with an award ceremony honoring LGBTQIA+ trailblazers such as Tabytha Gonzalez, Associate Human Rights Specialist/Transgender Communities Liaison, NYC Commission on Human Rights; Tony Jermin, Surface Level Podcaster and Social Justice Advocate; Sandra Perez, Executive Director of NYC Pride; Dr. Viraj V. Patel (John Wade Honoree), Associate Professor, Division of General Internal Medicine Co-Director, Montefiore Prevention Program, Associate Director, Behavioral and Implementation Science Core, Einstein-Rockefeller-CUNY Center for AIDS Research and Faculty, Residency Program in Primary Care/Social Internal Medicine; and **Analia Santana _(Youth Honoree/GSA), _**Junior, Manhattan College, Class of 2024. This was followed by the raising of the pride flag outside Bronx Borough Hall.
