Modern Odyssey episode with Dr. Despina Afentouli: Tribute to 100 years from Asia Minor Catastrophe

The year 2022 marks the centennial of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, one of the most tragic events of the 20th century. This commemorative Modern Odyssey episode on BronxNet presents a fuller picture of what happened not only to the Greeks, but to other Christians, including Armenians and Assyrians, at the hands of the Ottoman Empire. Modern Odyssey Producer and Host Dr. Despina Afentouli presents testimonies, information from international genocide scholars and researchers, including historical facts and humanistic insight. Modern Odyssey features interviews with leaders, artists, and movers on issues that aim to inspire. Modern Odyssey Host, journalist and sociologist Despina Afentouli views the adventure of life as Odysseus’ epic journey to Ithaca – as a symbol of timeless values, and human stories worth telling.
