Dr. William Latimer speaks with Dr. Yusuf Ransome, Assistant Professor of Public Health, Social and Behavioral Sciences from Yale University. In this episode Dr. Ransome focuses on identifying the unique gifts and contributions that we bring to society, and especially our communities (defined by geography as well as other social status including race, ethnicity, and religious upbringing). Dr. Ransome also discusses his recent research project that aims to quantify the extent that people’s health is impacted when religious institutions in their neighborhoods close. He will share briefly, the scientific evidence linking religion to health. His work is innovative and speaks to who he is and what he represents, personally, and the possible contributions of this work to social justice and health equity. 04/19/22.
