Dr. William Latimer speaks with Dr. Maricruz Rivera-Hernandez, a gerontologist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Services, Policy and Practice at Brown University. In this episode, Dr. Hernandaz talks about her research regarding Hispanic Medicare beneficiaries. " I have received funding from the Advance-Clinical Translational Research (CTR) Mentored Research Award to understand issues about choice among Medicare Advantage enrollees. Later, I received a K01 (Mentored Research Scientist Development Awards) to study Medicare Advantage plan choice and selection among racial and ethnic minorities (African Americans and Hispanics) and low-income seniors with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias. I was also awarded an R03 to explore nursing home disparities among Hispanic beneficiaries with dementia." 04/12/22.
