Bronx Film Wednesdays: November 3, 2021

Bronx Film Wednesdays presents My Kingdom Come (A Nosotros Tu Reino) by filmmaker Horacio Alcalá, the story of Simón González, world champion kickboxer now facing his 14th challenge: to walk again. After conquering the kickboxing world, Simón suffered a home accident that put him in a wheelchair. Far from hanging on to pain, he chose to turn to those around him to find the strength to walk again. The documentary follows his journey as he enters treatment that promises to regenerate his spinal cord, getting him closer to his dream of stepping back into the ring again! The film is narrated in seven chapters named to capture the athlete’s extraordinary focus and inspiring accomplishments: Prelude, The Lion Doesn’t Walk Alone, Soldier Without Homeland, The Wizard And The Warrior, The Promised Land, My Kingdom For A Horse, and Encore. Presented in Spanish with English subtitles. Read more on our website. Hosted by BronxNet’s Sonyi Lopez and featuring an interview with the director.
