This week’s episode of BronxTalk features a discussion on Black and African culture. Gary Axelbank hosted Peggy King Jorde, Cultural Projects Consultant; Nick Dembowski, President of the Kingsbridge Historical Society; and Harold "Fyutch" Simmons, a Music and Social Justice Artist. They discussed how the Black Lives Matters movement has energized a renewed effort to create a stronger sense of identity for Americans who have been historically denied opportunity and bring attention to previously marginalized history. They also talked about the effectiveness of art and music in energizing young people to understand their own cultural roots. Producers: Rebecca Hemick & Stephen Powell Editor: Yenelsida Diaz
