Bronx Film Wednesdays: December

Pregones/PRTT's Bronx Film Wednesdays Digital Edition turns its lens to mindful living and self-care with TU REAL NATURALEZA (Your Real Nature), the story and life journey of Colombian author, raw food chef, holistic wellness advocate, and plane crash survivor Gissela Torrella. Beautifully photographed by award-winning Dominican director Miguel Miller, also a plane crash survivor, the documentary features interviews with women and men who have successfully overcome trauma and illness by embracing a more conscious relationship between body, mind, and spirit. “To achieve optimal health in a natural way,” says Gissela, “it is necessary for your body to wake up to the powerful capacity of self-healing that it possesses.” The film has four inter-related parts: Cuerpo/Body, Mente/Mind, Emociones/Emotions, and Espíritu/Spirit. ALSO on this edition of BxFW, a winning short from 21 Islands International Film Fest: FISSO by director Raito Low from Taiwan is a stunning work of stop-motion animation that tells the ins and outs of a family made up entirely of photo cameras! Bronx Film Wednesdays (BxFW): Curated by film and media artist Melisa Ramos, this monthly series screens indie films that you will love. Travel the world and open your mind to stories as wild and as far as the imagination can go! Each night includes a highlight feature and winning shorts from our 21 Islands International Short Film Fest. Starting this fall, BxFW offers its free monthly programs online and at home on cable tv channels of BronxNet Community Television!
