BronxNet is seeking a Senior Editor to provide technical and creative guidance to our editing team!
BronxNet is an independent award-winning not-for-profit producing programming by, for, and about the people of the Bronx, while training the community to produce programs to share with their neighbors and the world.
We are looking for a Senior Editor to manage and mentor the editing team to ensure consistency, efficiency and quality of deliverables.
Essential responsibilities include:
Supervises a team of editors and interns including scheduling, assignment of projects, and training.
Work with senior management to guide editors’ professional development, provide performance evaluation, resolve performance issues, mentor, and maintain positive morale amongst the team.
Works with senior management to assess staffing needs.
Provides internal project leadership to edit/post team on assigned productions utilizing strong planning, organizational, and communication skills
Meets critical deadlines under changing conditions utilizing strong time management including prioritizing projects, pitching in and reassigning as needed.
Identifies and responds to any potential issues/problems, comes up with solutions, and ask for help when needed to ensure projects continue moving smoothly.
Provides quality assurance on deliverables for the team, reviewing all deliverables before submitting for final approval.
Edits different types of content including packages, promos, profiles, and an array of programs according to brand guidelines, or with basic concepts and little direction contributing to special projects/assignments as needed.
Collaborates interdepartmentally and with cross disciplinary teams, as well as external partners when required on a wide variety of projects.
Designs motion and still graphics for projects.
Delivers projects with expertise according to needed specs’ finalizing edits for deliverables in multiple formats.
Promotes a positive, collaborative, communicative, and helpful culture, with a passion for journalistic, artistic, and technical innovation and excellent work.
Performs other duties as identified by the Director of Creative Services in support of company goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of digital video editing and three years’ experience managing a team.
Proficiency in Final Cut and Adobe Premiere Pro, comprehensive understanding of editing file structures, A/V formats, and intimate knowledge of compression terminology including latest file formats including but not limited to HD, 4K & 360 file formats is essential.
The candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, as nights and weekends may be required.
The candidate must be able to work under pressure, make deadlines and manage time efficiently. This person will have a keen attention to detail and take pride in the work being produced.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus. Bilingual Spanish/English a plus. Knowledge of the Bronx a plus.
