Education Manager

BronxNet is seeking a Education Manager to engage and inspire our community in the Bronx and beyond!

BronxNet is an independent award-winning not-for-profit producing programming by, for, and about the people of the Bronx, while training the community to produce programs to share with their neighbors and the world.

We are looking for a Education Manager to develop media/technology/performance classes and curriculum for the Education department, cultivating new and existing programs and partnerships with the local schools and community based organizations.

Essential responsibilities include:

• Develop classes and curriculum for new remote and in person classes to educate all levels of learners from children to seniors in BronxNet classrooms, in the field or on location on the use of production equipment, aspects of studio and field production, post-production software and aesthetics of media and performance.
• Oversee enrollment and scheduling of classes; 
• Teach remote or in person classes as needed.
• Track the progress of students and classes.
• Develop and maintain education calendar of programs, workshops and events;
• Onboard and supervise instructors and interns;
• Assist in outreach activities to increase engagement and awareness of BronxNet classes and events.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in media or Education; and/or a minimum five years in Media in one or more of the following: TV studio production, field production, documentary production, editing, acting, animation, visual storytelling, podcasting etc.

Experience teaching for media, production and/or post production and/or performance, teaching/instructing/training children, adults, and/or seniors with varying levels of technical skill, and the ability to teach in both traditional classroom and virtual classroom setting desired. Experience working in the nonprofit industry is a plus. 

Bilingual Spanish/English a plus. Knowledge of the Bronx a plus.
