BronxNet has 24/7 dedicated channel By, For, & About Young People on Verizon FiOS Channel 37. It is a 21st century multi-platform knowledge industry offering media services, training, and access to technology for young people, students, schools, educators, youth organizations and the community to produce and share content by, for and about young people.
The channel involves young people in the democratic process which is at the heart of public access television, giving them a platform to give a voice to their ideas, thoughts, creative visions and hope for the future; a place to interact with their world, both locally and beyond.
The channel serves as an educational and social environment for young people and others to expand their horizons, gain knowledge, and increase awareness of the issues that affect young people, using local voices to create global connections. Open 2.0 is a magazine style show produced by, and about young people. Students from participating Bronx high schools write, host and produce the show. They cover all the issues that concern our young people including health, education, entertainment and the latest happenings in our community. Students work both in the field and studio to produce the show and segments include interviews with our Bronx Borough President, a rising recording artist and professionals from the medical community.
