About

Local 237 "On The Air" | Local 237 is the largest local in the Teamsters international union (International Brotherhood of Teamsters). Our membership reflects the diversity of New York City. About 7,400 of us work for the New York City Housing Authority, another 11,000 members work in New York City agencies, the Health and Hospitals Corporation and the City University of New York, and some 3,000 members work on Long Island. We also represent over 7,100 retirees across the country and overseas ;WHAT IS BRONXNET? ;BRONXNET is the private, not-for-profit community television station serving the borough of the Bronx. The Station was established in 1988, under an agreement between the City of New York and Cablevision of New York City.


BronxNet is an independent, not-for-profit organization, established under the Cable Television Franchise Agreement between the City of New York and Cablevision of New York City.The station began cablecasting programs on July 1, 1993.

BronxNet provides local television by the people of the Bronx, for the people of the Bronx. Our channels feature BronxNet produced shows, as well as those created by community access producers.

BronxNet has a commitment to: training Bronx residents in television production, providing hands-on internships and solid media career preparation for high school and college students, and producing programs in the interest of Bronx residents and not-for-profit organizations.

Community Television Channels BronxNet programs are available on Channels 67, 68, 69 and 70 on the Cablevision system and on Channels 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 and 38 on the Verizon Fios system.
