Description: Today's show was all about empowering the Bronx community to come out and do community service,  or even just be a mentor to our future lawyers, doctors, and politicians. We were first joined by our very own Michael Max Knobbe, BronxNet Executive Director, and the Bronx Polar Bear Club. The Polar Bear Plunge is a tradition which started in Coney Island in 1903. This year, the event took place in Orchard Beach on Saturday, February 12, 2011. The club's goal is to "reawaken this tradition, and then show people that there is a way to appreciate our beautiful Bronx water falls in the wintertime," said Knobbe.

Next, we had Linda Cox, Executive Director of the Bronx River Alliance, who invited Bronx residents to participate in cleaning up the Bronx River. "We can't have a clean river downstream, unless we have care for the river upstream," said Cox. The river, which is 23 miles long, is the only fresh water river in New York City, which is why it's so important for volunteers to partake in this project.

Marcia Cameron, the Director of the Bronx Women's Business Resource Center is calling out everyone interesting in furthering their  business through social medias like Facebook or Twitter. There are 60-hours workshops in the Fall and Spring, to teach people how to go about doing so.

Last but not the least, students from the Bronx School for Law Government and Justice gave us a taste of what the Bronx Great Debaters is all about.
