Savor The Bronx! Restaurant Week Coming In November Restaurants To Serve Up Special Deals November 1 – 13, 2011. Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., in conjunction with the New York State Restaurant Association, will present Savor The Bronx!, the borough's first restaurant week from Tuesday, November 1 to Sunday, November 13th. The event, produced by the Bronx Tourism Council and co-hosted by the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (BOEDC) and the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, will showcase the borough's best eateries. They'll offer special values and discounts like prix fixe 3-course meals, complimentary coffee and dessert, or 20% off the check.

The Highbridge Community Center along with The American Lung Association in New York and the Bronx Smoke-Free Partnership hosted an event against Tobacco Advertising in the Bronx. The Tobacco Ad Tour called "Take a walk in our shoes," was led by kids from a local school here in the Bronx, joined by Senator Gustavo Rivera and Assemblywoman Vanessa L. Gibson. They took a walk on the streets of the Bronx to show us the presence of tobacco advertising in the borough, and how is it affecting our children on daily basis.

Morgan Powell Join Bronx African American History Community Researcher, Morgan Powell for an illustrated talk on the history of African Americans on both sides of the Bronx River on Saturday October 29th @2:30pm at the Bronx Library Center located at 310 East Kingsbridge Road You will be taken on a virtual tour of communities that include: Wakefield, Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwood, Bronxdale, West Farms, Longwood, and much much more! will take attendees on a journey of African American Heritage in 100 incredible images.
