Bronx Vote 2012 Election Info

Obama and Romney.

Tuesday November 6th is Election Day. As a result of Hurricane Sandy, about sixty polls throughout the tri-state, and three polls in the borough of the Bronx are not operational. The board of elections is currently working to relocate any polls that are not accessible to the public or without electricity.

Below is a list of displaced sites in the Bronx and the new locations:

If you are not already registered, it is too late to register for the Nov. 6 general election, but you may still register still register for future elections. If you are not able to vote at your designated location, you will have the option of voting by absentee ballot in your local Board of Election office until 5pm on November 6th, 2012. If you already have an absentee ballot, the deadline to mail the ballot is November 5th, 2012 or you can deliver the ballot in person to your local Board of Elections Office on November 6th, 2012 by 5pm.

GARIFUNA COALITION 2012 The Garifuna American legacy and history are inextricably linked to the United States and marked by the strength, determination and vision of such notable individuals as William Henry Brown playwright of The Drama of King Shotaway, a play which is recognized as the first black drama of the American Theatre, which has as its subject the 1795 Black Caribs (Garifunas) Insurrection in the Island of Saint Vincent, led by the Paramount Chief Joseph Chatoyer.

BronxNet Media Production Access Coming to East Bronx

BronxNet at Mercy College Bronx, N.Y. – October 5, 2012 – Today, BronxNet announced it will build a TV Studio at Mercy College in the East Bronx to provide technological access and media production training at the Hutch Metro Center. The BronxNet studio will be called BronxNet at Mercy College and is scheduled to open in the early spring of 2013. The Center is expected to bring an influx of jobs and industry.
