"New York's 13th Congressional District elections, 2014"

BronxTalk Primary Election 2014 Voters will go to the polls on June 24, 2014 for a Democratic primary vote, to choose the candidate who will run in the General Election, to represent the 13th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

BronxTalk Host Gary Axelbank will give Bronxites and others the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates as he moderates a debate between Charles Rangel, Adriano Espaillat and Michael A. Walrond Jr.

Find out what the candidates have to say about the issues that concern you. Tune in to BronxNet on Monday, June 16th at 9:00 p.m. The hour-long debate airs on BronxNet Channel 67 on the Cablevision system and on Channel 33 on Verizon FiOS. The program is also simulcast on bronxnet.org.

Primary: New York is one of 12 states to use a strictly closed primary process, in which the selection of a party's candidates in an election is limited to registered party members.

Voter registration: To vote in the federal primary, voters had to register by May 30, 2014. To vote in the state primary, voters must register by August 15, 2014.

Bronxnet Creative Services Producer Derek Woods produced honoree vignette videos shown at the Chambers Centennial Celebration at Marina Del Ray Wednesday February 26th. The videos highlight the Bronx Chamber of Commerce's effort to bring jobs and revenue to the Bronx, along with these 4 incredible partners: Donald Trump (Ferry Point Golf Links) Mark Messier ( Kingsbridge National Ice Center) Montefiore Hospital and Simone Development.

Bronx week takes place each year in May and actually offers an extended week of celebrations that include concerts, economic development forums, recreational events, a parade, and the gala Bronx Ball that honors Bronx-bred nationally and internationally recognized celebrities. CUNYAC 2014 Basketball Championship Game The 2014 CUNYAC Community College Men's and Women's Finals will see two champions tonight with the women's game beginning at 6:00pm and the men's beginning no earlier than 8:30pm. Top-seeded Queensborough takes on the #3 Broncos from the Bronx in the women's final. Queensborough is returning to the big game for the first time since 2011 while this is the first time the Broncos have reached the final since starting their program in 2011-12. On the men's side, it is a battle of the Bronx with #6 nationally ranked Hostos taking on Bronx. The top-seeded Caimans are looking for their first title since 2008 while the Broncos are looking for a four-peat.
