DAREN C. JAIME
"Bringing the issues into focus" has been the driving force behind Daren Jaime and his passion for broadcast television. Daren is the host of Perspectives, a live, award-winning show dedicated to stimulating discussion and dialogue on topical issues affecting the African American community. Perspectives, entering its fifth season airs on BRONXNET television channel 67.
Daren's New York television broadcasting career started in 1994, as a reporter for Cablevision News 12 in Yonkers before moving to BRONXNET. Prior to the change in format, he was the trusted face for five years at BRONXNET, anchoring the nightly news. In addition to news anchor, Daren produced news 67. His field assignments spanned from the local courthouse to the White House.
Some of those interviewed by him include former Vice President Al Gore, South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu, actor Denzel Washington, Hip-Hop pioneer Russell Simmons, Jesse Jackson and scores of others. It is Daren's robust news experience and seamless transition from news anchor to talk show host that demonstrates his range as a trusted media personality.
Daren's journalistic skills have been utilized as a freelance writer for 1010 WINS news, as well as being a television and radio analyst for high school and college basketball in the tri-state area.
Also, Daren appeared as a guest on several New York radio and talk stations providing commentary on news, sports and major national events. The list includes: C-Span; Hot 97's Street Soldiers; The Wendy Williams Experience; and Power 105 FM's, "The Power Hour."
Born and raised in Harlem and currently residing in Westchester County, Daren has been recognized for many civic accomplishments in both New York City and Westchester County. He remains active within the community year-round — speaking at schools, prisons and various other business and community related gatherings.
