"Edwin Mejia"

Edwin Mejia co-founded The Vladar Company in 2008. He has served as the lead producer on all The Vladar Company’s films. Over the past 8 years, he has been responsible for developing the production slate and managing all the sales at The Vladar Company. Mejia oversees in-house productions, co-productions, acquisitions and plays a key role in managing the company’s worldwide theatrical distribution needs.

Mejia was responsible for producing the 2013/14 award winning hit film, “Generation Iron,” alongside Director, Vlad Yudin and producer Jerome Gary (Pumping Iron). The film was narrated by Academy Award Nominee, Mickey Rourke and went on to become one of the top five highest grossing documentaries at the box office at the end of 2013. Mejia negotiated all the domestic and foreign distribution sales on the title.

Mejia most recently produced the fashion film biopic, “Jeremy Scott The People’s Designer” with Producer Matt Kapp (Valentino The Last Emperor) and the Italian Fashion House, Moschino based on the iconic fashion designer, featuring Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, A$AP Rocky and Rita Ora. Mejia negotiated the rights for the Netflix acquisition. He has also Executive Produces the Mr. Olympia Show in Las Vegas for American Media Inc. The collaboration led to the launch of the Generation Iron Fitness Network where he establishes partnerships with leading Fitness and Sports Nutrition brands to integrate their products/brands seamlessly into short and long form content. Currently, he is producing “The Hurt Business” with producer Jim Czarnecki (Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 9/11), starring Rhonda Rousey, Holly Holm, Jon Jones, and is narrated by Kevin Costner.

Prior to partnering with Vlad Yudin, Mejia spent over 6 years working on Wall Street in finance with Lehman Brothers, Smith Barney and Fidelity Investments. During his six-year tenure in finance, he managed approximately $4 billion of Commercial Real Estate Holdings, the funding of warehouse lending lines of credit for Lehman Brothers and managed a portfolio of over 700 private and institutional accounts at Smith Barney.

Mejia is an active member of the Producer's Guild of America (PGA) and has been an active volunteer with Charity Water. He most recently founded Mejia Global, which has become a pioneer in cultivating multicultural talent and brands in the agency world. Mejia Global has paved the way for how the industry communicates with the multicultural audience.

Mejia has helped leading brands and talent connect with mobile and digital consumers in meaningful ways. Mejia Global helps cultivate and produce content that uplifts, showcases meaningful human experiences in film, tv, sports, fashion and digital media.

Edwin was born in the Bronx, attended Holy Cross High School (Queens) and graduated from Pace University with a Bachelor's in International Business.
